Getting Started
What is Sokofy?
Sokofy is a digital marketplace that connects you directly with trusted local market sellers in Tanzania. You can browse fresh fruits, vegetables, and produce from nearby markets and have them delivered to your doorstep — fresh, fast, and fairly priced.
How do I create an account?
Download the Sokofy app from the App Store or Google Play (coming soon). You can register using your phone number and verify it with a one-time password (OTP). No email required — just your Tanzanian phone number.
Is Sokofy available in my area?
We are launching in Dar es Salaam first, with plans to expand to other major cities across Tanzania. When you open the app, it will automatically detect your location and show you nearby markets and sellers.

Ordering & Delivery
How do I place an order?
Browse products from nearby sellers, add items to your cart, choose your delivery method (standard or express), select your payment method, and confirm your order. You will receive real-time updates on your order status.
How long does delivery take?
We offer two delivery options: Standard delivery (2–3 hours) and Express delivery (30–60 minutes). Delivery times may vary depending on your distance from the seller and order volume.
Can I cancel or modify my order?
You can cancel your order before the seller confirms it. Once the order is being prepared, cancellation may not be possible. To modify an order, please contact the seller directly through the app or reach out to our support team.
What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?
We take quality seriously. If your order arrives damaged, spoiled, or incorrect, contact our support team within 24 hours with photos of the issue. We will arrange a replacement or refund depending on the situation.

Payments
What payment methods are accepted?
Sokofy supports M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas, Airtel Money, and credit/debit cards. We also plan to support cash on delivery in select areas. All payments are processed securely through our payment partners.
Is my payment information safe?
Yes. Sokofy never stores your mobile money PIN or card details. All transactions are processed through certified payment gateways with industry-standard encryption. Never share your PIN or OTP with anyone, including Sokofy staff.
How do refunds work?
Refunds are processed to your original payment method within 3–7 business days. For mobile money payments, the refund goes directly to your mobile wallet. You will receive a notification once the refund is processed.

For Sellers
How do I become a seller on Sokofy?
Download the Sokofy app and register as a seller. You will need to provide your business details, market location, and a valid ID for verification. Our team will review your application and approve it within 24–48 hours.
Are there any fees for sellers?
Sokofy charges a small service commission on each completed order. There are no upfront fees, monthly subscriptions, or listing charges. You only pay when you make a sale. Full fee details are provided during seller registration.
How do sellers receive payments?
Seller earnings are paid out directly to your registered mobile money account (M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas, or Airtel Money). Payouts are processed after order completion, typically within 24 hours.

Account & Security
How do I reset my password or phone number?
Go to Settings in the app and select "Account Security." You can update your phone number by verifying the new number with an OTP. If you are locked out, contact our support team for assistance.
How can I delete my account?
You can request account deletion from Settings or by contacting us at privacy@sokofy.africa. We will process your request within 30 days and delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
